| The Political Season |
We are now in the final stretch, soon to have an election. It is no secret that small business has been severely affected by political winds. With all of the drastic changes in health care, tax laws and business operating policy/regulations being implemented at the Federal level, it has been nearly impossible for small business to formulate a respectable business plan. Constructing a cash flow chart that could be considered plausible has become a formidable challenge. Simply put, small business has been on hold. They, our congressmen and the administration officials just do not get it, small businesses need continuity to survive and provide employment for nearly 68% of the nation’s work force. In three weeks, we will have a new congress, pending installation in January. It may be structured similar to the present or it may be drastically changed toward conservative thinking. Either way, small business, our type of customer, must go on. I detect in my visits with new prospects and current customers a pent up need to improve their business plans and operating cost structures. With difficult slow sales in these economic times, reducing costs while offering a higher grade of product and service becomes tantamount to survival, future growth and increased profits.
