Reality, Number Two
One week ago we began a new chapter in the life and times of the United
States of America. As the news comes out detailing the contents of the
Senate Bill, Speaker Pelosi said “needed to be passed so we could see
what was in it,” we find that we all are severely affected in many
major ways.
I say again, as a small business person who has made payroll for many
decades, I do not like what has come down. There are those who
emphatically do. I now say to the administration and our congress
and particularly those voters who elected them, you have spoken. I must
accept, for now, your decision. I must build a new small business
operating plan hobbled with the reality that our society is depending
on a rapidly dwindling number of “producers” to support a faster
growing number of “free riders”.
Meanwhile I must double my efforts to educate those who believe the
United States of America “will always provide” that we are now on a
path of self destruction. We are near the brink of economic disaster
with fewer dollars being generated for public use and more public uses
for those dollars. We, our great country’s producers, must get to work
and reverse this trend through both educating our voters of economic
reality and improving our production and trade of valuable goods and
services.
While big business usually gets the “ink” and support of the masses, it
has long been a tradition that small business has carried the major
load providing an estimated 68% of employment opportunities.
I believe that this administration and congress has and is continuing
to kill small business as an unstated, ultimate purpose within their
operating plan.
Yes, I hear all of the grandiose speeches expounding otherwise,
however, look at actual actions. Their actions have literally thrown
small business and our country’s future under the buss, so to speak.
