Reality, We Must Look Forward
Today we begin a new chapter in the life and times of the United States
of America. As the old cliché states, it’s nearly impossible to
“Put the Hole Back in the Donut”. Congress and the Administration have
acted, like or not, we all will be affected in major ways.
As a small business person who has made payroll for many decades, I do
not like what has come down. There are those who emphatically do, so I
say, the administration and congress elected by the people have spoken.
I must not look back. I must face reality and move forward meeting many
new and confusing issues head on with a plan that maximizes both my
employees and my own talents.
Employers must adapt to new and different business models and employees
must be ready to support their employer as never before. Given the
national debt level and the take over of our privately operated Health
Care and Insurance Systems will, without a doubt, exponentially raise
the amounts of cash the government must take in to operate.
All businesses, employees and citizens will be called on to pay for
this new chapter in life. Everyone must realize as history teaches us,
government managed institutions are very inefficient and your hard
earned dollars will shrink a great deal before being used for Health
Care or reducing the national debt. Even those who believe they will be
exempt will find they will pay in many unusual ways. There will be no
escaping the tax man.
As a long time business person I have long followed a personal agenda
that attempts to maximize my efforts along with my employees. I have
written about these efforts in past Blogs and invite you to go back and
take a look. I hope my efforts along with yours will help all of us
plan for our new future. We must become more efficient and/or raise
prices to stay in business.

Brads Blog, “The Finer Cut”, is another of
many
planned. Each issue will cover a topic of interest about our machines,
our industry, our customers and more. I look forward to this task and
am excited about the opportunity to broaden our communications with our
customers and industry. I invite you to return and visit from time to
time, cruising back through issues to see what I may have been thinking
of at another time.
I also invite you, our reader to contribute by offering your comments.
