Fueling the Flames
As a concerned American citizen and owner of a small business I believe
our President’s speech on Wednesday evening only served as a vehicle to
further assault America’s largest work force, small business.
I have contacted the Iowa Delegation about how I believe small business
is being treated in “An open letter to
the Iowa Congressional
Delegation”. I also wrote about the issue in my last blog, number 26. In short summary, small
business is burning while Washington is fiddling.
While the topic of a small business exemption from some health care
costs was mentioned as well as possible relief for Doctors Medical
Malpractice costs, I believe our President knows full well that the
current Congress will never submit to real Tort Law Reform.
I also believe a health care bill, passed by the current congress, will
include many hidden covenants that will continue plundering our
treasury and tax paying citizens. Our President, will gleefully and
proudly sign it with much fanfare, conveniently ignoring the promise
of “no increased cost”, “not one penny”.
This speech and message, forcefully delivered only served to continue
the muddle and confusion in Washington. It maintains status quo,
rendering small business with millions of owners and employees helpless
in their quest for recovery. It left this writer with a hopeless
feeling that little people do not count. Only he knows and he will lead
us his way, “period”.
I urge all who read this blog to take the time to express your views to
your delegation.
“CHANGE”, in my view must reflect the views of the majority of this
country’s citizens.
Let’s all do our part.
Brads Blog, “The Finer Cut”, is another of many
planned. Each issue will cover a topic of interest about our machines,
our industry, our customers and more. I look forward to this task and
am excited about the opportunity to broaden our communications with our
customers and industry. I invite you to return and visit from time to
time, cruising back through issues to see what I may have been thinking
of at another time.
I also invite you, our reader to contribute by offering your comments.
