The Finer Cut

Lets Dig in and Do Our Part

Surviving, is the word describing our plight during these difficult economic times. While the mass media and our President decry our situation as the worst since the great depression and are committed to borrow and spend, many citizens think the opposite, I find many who believe the American spirit will persevere however it is done.

As for me, I believe the period of the first oil embargo and very high interest rates of prime around 20%,  was much worse economically than today. We found a way, adjusted and found many years of prosperity followed.

I recently visited several of our customers at their locations, mostly in the West and found them to be looking forward to “09 with good spirit and intending to Fill Up their Glass. I have talked by telephone with several in the East and found the same spirit.

How are they coping?

It is the cold season, really cold and lots of snow all around. Some have found ways of plowing snow to keep key employees on however most are conducting a review of their equipment, servicing and repairing as needed. All were taking a critical look at the possible work available and studying how each machine or tool may fit in during ’09.

I was very pleased to note that when the Orbital Action Screening Plant had been added to their available machine list, new opportunities had surfaced and acted upon. Most were looking at additional opportunities appearing due to the versatility and mobile capabilities of their Orbit Screen. The task of marketing their new abilities was being implemented with enthusiasm.

In short, they are Digging In, looking at other areas of work and planning to Fill UP their Glass.  I ask, how can we help you fill yours?

Brads Blog, “The Finer Cut”, is one of a continuing series. Each issue will cover a topic of interest about our machines, our industry, our customers and more. I look forward to this task and am excited about the opportunity to broaden our communications with our customers and industry. I invite you to return and visit from time to time, cruising back through issues to see what I may have been thinking of at another time.

I also invite you, our reader to contribute by offering your comments. Please send your thoughts to Brad@orbitscreens.com , by letter or fax, 563-922 9060.

Happy screening
